Cape Hatteras is home to some of the most incredible fishing in North America. From the daily double of inshore fishing (Red Drum & Speckled Trout) to 1000 lb Marlin offshore, the fishing here is truly incredible.

For offshore fishing, Watermen’s Retreat is located just 15 minutes from Oregon Inlet Fishing Center and 40 minutes from Hatteras Inlet (Teach’s Lair / Hatteras Harbor / Hatteras Landing / Oden’s Dock). If you prefer inshore fishing, there are a wide variety of spots starting right off our backyard, to just a short drive away. You can also surf cast across the street, all the way down to world famous Cape Point which is 25 minutes to the south.

What type of fishing can I do right out my door at Watermen’s?
Many of our guests fish from their kayaks and SUPs, which can be launched at Watermen’s. There are also inshore charter guides that can pick you up right off our dock.
Is there a dock that I can use to tie up my boat if I want to bring it for fishing?
Yes, we recommend booking Watermen’s Hideout as your accommodations, as this property has its own private dock.
Are the kitchens at Watermen’s Retreat fully equipped to cook my catch?
